Paralympics: Nigeria’s Adesokan wins first gold, breaks World record

Yakubu Adesokan of Nigeria celebrates setting a new world record and gold in the Men’s 48kg Power lifting on day 1 of the London 2012 Paralympics Games at ExCel on August 30, 2012 in London, England.

The 33 year-old did it in style by breaking the world record in the men's 48 category by lifting 178 kg, which is over three times his body weight!  Finally something to rejoice about as a Nation.
