Zaria Killing as Gunmen Kills 4

Unknown gunmen on Saturday night killed four people at a hotel in Uche Road Sabon Gari, Zaria, just as a motorcycles’ dealer, Andy Okafor, that was shot on Thursday night died yesterday at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Shika, Zaria.

When contacted on phone, the Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Femi Adenaike, told our correspondent to meet him at his office for the police side of the story.

On arrival, however, our correspondent was told that the CP doesn’t come to office on Sundays. After hours of waiting at the Kaduna State Police Command headquarters, all subsequent calls by our correspondent to the CP and his PPRO’s phones were not returned.

However, police sources confirmed that the motorcycle dealer died yesterday as a result of the gunshot injuries he sustained when the gunmen attacked him at his shop located in Kofar Doka, Zaria.

Also, the police source said gunmen stormed a recreation centre at Uche Road and shot dead Benjamin Sule, Uba Mamuda and two others. Others that sustained injuries include the director of the hotel, John Oguche, another source who witnessed the attack said.

In another attack, two people were killed in Zangon Kataf local government area and two others were injured in what residents described as reprisal attack on the murder of six villagers.
A resident of Kafanchan told our correspondent that the four people were ambushed by locals on their way back from a local market.
