Ondo State-born Professor Ilesanmi Adesida has become the first black
Vice Chancellor of University of Illinois in the United States of
America.
63- year-old Professor Adesina is a naturalized American Physicist of Nigerian descent.
He was the Dean, College of Engineering at the University before the
University Board of Trustees selected him to be the next Vice Chancellor
for Academics Affairs and Provost, University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign.
Professor Adesida assumed his new position since August 2012.
